Deer Forks Ranch and Cow Creek Unit in Wyoming ranch country are home to numerous wildlife species. The Middletons provide a few hunts for mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and elk on private ranchlands. Facilities include the furnished guesthouses and meals are provided. Elk hunting has been awesome in recent years; however the chance of drawing a bull license is low. We recommend applying for preference points.
Prairie dog hunter groups rent the housekeeping facilities and designate their own cook and dishwasher. No season, license fees or quotas apply to these hunts on private ground. Bounty is paid for coyote and fox when funds are available.
Apply to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department by March 15 for deer and antelope hunting. For elk you must apply by January 31. The elk license drawing results are available soon enough for unsuccessful applicants to apply for deer and/or antelope. Please let us know if you are applying as soon as possible and the outcome as well. Some of our reservations are made a year in advance. Please contact the Department for more information. Phone 307-777-4600.
For deer and antelope hunting please send 50% of the package fee before applying. The balance is due ASAP after drawing. No refunds; unrefunded deposits may be applied to future hunts or visits if space is available. We are usually unable to fill canceled hunts after the drawings.
Elk licenses are so hard to draw that we have room for most everyone who is successful. Let us know if you apply. Then, if you draw please send 50% of the hunt as soon as you get a license. The balance will be due one month before arrival. 8% sales and lodging tax applies on $100 per day.
