Vacation off the beaten track at a working Wyoming ranch. The rustic log cabin at Deer Forks Ranch is equipped for housekeeping so you can enjoy your own home cooked meals on your own schedule. Let the children out of the car to explore and meet the numerous domestic animals. Take the family out for a hike or guided horseback ride or llama trek in the mountains. In the evening watch a movie on TV or play a board game (yours or ours). When you've had a chance to unwind you can go sight seeing to Ft. Fetterman, Ft. Laramie, or Wyoming Pioneer Museum. Ambitious hikers can climb 10,200 foot Laramie Peak. Several rodeos including the Wyoming State Fair are held in Douglas during the summer months. For a summer hunting trip with the guys, consider prairie dog shooting at Cow Creek Ranch. We show you where they are and then you are on your own. The ranch house there has six bedrooms, 3 baths and a fully equipped kitchen where you can do your own cooking.
